At Mod Op, the Financial Analyst supports the work of the accounting department, the Finance Manager, and the CFO. The analyst will provide accurate and data-based information about the company’s profitability, solvency, stability, and liquidity. A large focus of this position will be research, analysis and reporting.


Essential Functions
  • Own the month-end reporting process with key visibility from the executive team, board of directors and investors
  • Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, financial statements, forecasts, etc.) taking into account the Company’s goals and financial standing
  • Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to increase operational efficiency, reduce costs and improve financial performance
  • Work with key company stakeholders to assemble and summarize data to structure sophisticated reports on financial status and risks
  • Build financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis
  • Conduct business studies on past, present and future financial performance and develop forecast models
  • Identify trends, advise the Company and recommend actions to the Finance Manager and CFO based on sound analysis
  • Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts
  • Reconcile financial transactions and making adjustments when necessary
  • Help with the due diligence and integration of company acquisitions
  • Complete business filings and compliance, including but not limited to state, local, withholding, and annual reports
  • Consult with management to help guide and influence long-term strategic decision making within the broadest scope
  • This position requires up to 0-10% travel.
  • BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • You question why we do things certain ways with an eye to improving the process and/or outcome
  • You have a history of working on a team
  • You are a continuous learner
  • You have a desire to learn how a business operates
  • You have a general understanding of finance, GAAP accounting, and business operations
  • You have strong Excel skills (or a willingness to develop strong Excel skills)
  • You have hands-on experience with financial and statistical analysis
  • You have outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills
  • You are well informed in current financial subjects, accounting, financial forecasting, tax laws, money markets, and business environments
