Summary

MOD's Vice President of Franchising is responsible for leading the franchise function for MOD to execute brand standards and operating initiatives. Primary responsibilities include operations and relationship management. The role is responsible for understanding MOD franchisee needs and then communicating, advocating, and leading implementation of solutions for those needs. This role will work with and influence multiple business functions in support of the franchise business. These include operations & training, supply chain, marketing, technology, real estate and finance. The Vice President of Franchising will be the key liaison between the MOD executive team and all aspects of the franchise business. This position reports to the SVP of Operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead initiatives to build the effectiveness of franchise operations by clearly articulating and communicating the brand strategy and translating into actionable plans for our franchise operators.
  • Develop trust, credibility, and effective and collaborative relationships with the franchise community as valued contributors in MOD's overall success.
  • Provide leadership for multiple Franchise Advisory Committees, including operations, marketing, culinary and technology.
  • Partner with key department leaders and work cross-functionally to align franchise operators with the MOD strategic plan and initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the MOD Franchise Team. As necessary, effectively hire, organize, and direct the team.
  • Ensure and direct compliance by all franchisees to company operations with franchise agreements, trademarks, brand standards, operational excellence, food safety standards and performance requirements.
  • Lead and facilitate implementation and execution of plans for operational excellence and as needed, implement and support systems, processes, and appropriate controls to accommodate effective franchise operations.
  • Taking the initiative to stay up to date with all restaurant operations skills, processes, knowledge and information.
  • Partner with and participate on all brand marketing and new product development teams in the development of strategies, plans and promotions and ensure programs and initiatives are store ready with solid roll-out plans.
  • Participate in the Real Estate Committee process to assist existing Franchisees with new store site selection and development.
  • Partner with Business Development Director to consult and guide new store site selection for Franchise Partners.
  • Partner with Business Development Director to secure new Franchise partners.



Basic Qualifications
  • 7-10 years of corporate managerial experience in a franchised, multi-unit environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading/managing/motivating teams with multiple, complex projects. Also must have in depth and successful experience leading and positively influencing franchise partners to achieve targeted objectives
  • Strong ability to influence and negotiate
  • Strong ability to organize effectively, delegate responsibility, solve problems quickly and communicate clearly
  • Must have excellent Problem Solving and Decision-Making skills- make good decisions based on analysis, experience and judgment Self-motivation, personal accountability, innovation, a comfort level with working independently and ability to lead change.
  • Proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can effectively interface and collaborate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to travel, including overnight travel, up to 40%

  • Effective communications and advocacy for franchising at the senior levels
  • A successful track record of making independent decisions and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to build effective teams - get the right people in the right places, enabling them to make decisions and celebrate success as a team
  • Demonstrate a passion for results - set compelling targets and deliver on commitments



Physical Requirements

Office work involves remaining in a stationary position most of the time in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse and telephone. Regularly operate a computer and other office equipment. Occasionally move about the work site to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or regularly move objects. Communicate and exchange information with co-workers and other individuals in person and electronically.
