What are the responsibilities and job description for the Location Supervisor position at Modern Parking Inc?

Summary: The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring parking operations are running efficiently. The Supervisor is expected to run a facility effectively in the absence of the manager and will be responsible for proper functioning and operation of the parking facility. The supervisor will also maintain standard operating procedures and ensure that service and safety standards are met and exceeded. The supervisor will serve as a liaison for the parking operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must have great communication skills, and must be customer base oriented while speaking to customers physically, over the phone, and via intercom.
  • Problem solving skills with customers, parking equipment, and within the team.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Business applications. Specifically Excel & Word.
  • Must be energetic and have a willingness to learn how to run a shift efficiently.
  • Willing to work weekends, evenings, and holiday.
  • Previous supervisor experience preferred, but not required.
  • Learn to adjust and repair parking equipment i.e. Assembly & Disassembly of Gate Arms.
  • Learn basic troubleshooting procedures to restart stations.
  • Supervise morning / evening rush throughout parking structure i.e. traffic at exit lanes and or directing traffic during construction or other projects.
  • Maintain inventory of Ticket/Receipt rolls in stock as well as keep constant supply at each garage’s office.
  • Clean and Dust parking Equipment exterior and interiors i.e. POF’s, Exit Stations, Entry Stations.
  • Properly maintain sensors on parking equipment by cleaning/dusting them and or troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Monitor the performance of all employees and provide immediate feedback as required i.e. while overseeing Intercom discussions.
  • Notify Management of any equipment or employee issues that require urgent attention like system malfunction or reporting severe accidents.
  • Accidents involving other customers within the facility and need to be reported. A claim report must be filled out by the customer with the help of a supervisor and an incident report must be completed by a supervisor based on what they experience; whether present or not at the scene of the accident.
  • Learn and understand accounting procedures to understand formulas in reports like ticket summary, uncollected tickets, car counts, overnight car counts, and other reports.
  • Update all City Reports (Ticket summary, Uncollected Tickets, Car Counts, & Valet Report) on a daily basis to ensure we meet our month end deadline.
  • To better serve our customers, supervisors must remain outside and around the exits, throughout their shift to expediate any issues that may arise.
  • Cash collection from Pay Stations with manager or 2nd supervisor as well as topping off Pay Stations with petty cash and accounting all receipts to ensure everything is balanced out.
  • A light inspection of all the working and non-working lights at each garage must be completed at least twice a month or whenever necessary.
  • Supervise maintenance tasks and ensure certain projects are completed as well as assisting maintenance when necessary.
  • Supervise intercom staff by ensuring they are keeping visuals of cameras and not their cell phones. Also ensuring security guards are doing car counts properly, addressing any calls in a timely manner, and staying visible by doing their rounds.
  • Break control for Intercom & Maintenance Staff- Two 10-minute Breaks & One-Half hour Uninterrupted Lunch before their 5th working hour.
  • Conduct Garage Inspections throughout the work week with specifics on items that need attention and follow up on items that have not yet been completed (minimum of 5 inspections).
  • Maintain all offices neat & tidy by cleaning after yourself, tossing out your trash, and wiping down your desk.
  • Train intercom and new staff when needed by showing them the basics of their position.
  • Inspect parking equipment, gate arm screws, ticket dispensers, Gate arm Lid’s, & POF’s for proper functionality.
  • Once per month hand deliver all local invoices to businesses and offices in a timely manner.
  • Sending an end shift report to management with any important info that may be of use.
  • Perform any other duties requested by management to run a smooth operation at all garages.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully Supervisor must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and / or ability required.

Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hand to handle, reach with hands and arms, fingers for dexterity, and talk or listen. The employee may be frequently required to sit. The employee may be required to frequently lift and / or move up to 15 pounds, such as supplies. Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
