Summary
The Vice President of Finance provides fiscal leadership and oversight to the Cancer Center at all levels of the organization to support the mission, philosophy and goals. The position oversees programs that fall under Finance to support the mission of care, education and research within the Cancer Center. Ensures world-class administrative services to our patients that continually exceeds their expectations.
This includes developing and implementing the strategic vision of finance which includes the enablement and optimization of Moffitt's resources through partnership with internal and external stakeholders. This strategic leader will collaborate closely with the executive team to drive financial decisions, enhance operational efficiency, and contribute to overall business growth.
Leadership oversight for all areas of responsibility.
Provide clear channels of communication and accountability to facilitate effective problem solving, supervision and ongoing enhancement of the revenue cycle. Serve as a mentor to patient access and revenue cycle operations staff,overseeing and supporting their professional growth, evaluating their performance as appropriate and improving the quality of their work.
Oversee standards and benchmarks for all areas of responsibility.
Proactively identify standards and benchmarks in all areas of responsibilities to facilitate the identification of risks, issues and trends; analyze and communicate issues to affected areas, including senior and executive management; develop and recommend associated solutions and participate in the decision-making process as appropriate. Reviews indicators of performance with Executive Management, the Joint Finance and Planning Committee and the Audit Committee of the Institute Board.
Administer Cancer Center financial resources in an optimal manner such that the financial and strategic success of the organization is
maintained both short-term and long-term. Through effective planning and management actions, balances the resource needs of clinical, innovation, foundation and research programs. Through subordinates, supervise and coordinate the functions of planning and budgeting, general accounting (including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, payroll), contracts and both short-term and long-term institutional planning.

Minimum Experience Required
A minimum of ten (10) years of finance experience in healthcare operations, physician practice management and research experience is required.
Understanding of Cost reporting, F&A rate, accounting, external financial statements and enhancing financial performance is expected.
A track record of continuously improving process, upskilling team members and utilization of technology to enhance work is required.
A visible, motivational, accessible leadership style with a commitment to building and mentoring a team with a customer service orientation. An individual who believes in empowering staff to perform at their highest level. Finance is considered a service to the organization and having a customer centric mindset is imperative.
