Job Summary
Under direction of the Epic Application Director, Applications Team Manager provides analyst guidance in Epic software analysis, design, configuration, testing, and implementation as well as application support and issue resolution. Leads by example and possesses solid analytical capabilities with excellent customer service skills. Acts as an escalation point across multiple applications and projects. Must be effective at leading a team in the planning, development and implementation of application features or enhancements. Collaborates with the Epic Applications Director to provide focus on positioning staff, prioritizing work, timelines and ensuring customer delivery. As a Team Manager and department liaison; conducts communication between IT and Operations, provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and configuring systems to meet user and organizational requirements.
Core Job Responsibilities
1 (30%) Management: 1. Oversees a team of analysts to ensure applications are well supported and implementations are properly executed. 2. Leads team processes for defining standards, promotes best practices and mentors staff. 3. Establishes and maintains an appropriate team lead presence with team members, Operational and IT leaders, vendors and customers. 4. Lead meetings, prioritize tasks, resolve conflicts and manage a project plan. 5. Defines requirements for changes and communicates to the appropriate application analyst. 6. Facilitates collaborative decision-making. 7. Serves as an escalation point for non-Human Resource issues and immediately escalates HR issues to appropriate managers.
2 (25%) Change Management: 1. Identifies data integrity issues and analyzes data and process flows for process improvement opportunities. 2.Perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with Epic software. 3.Review and scope requests to provide the best options for integration, with supporting cost benefit analysis. 4. Presents effective executive summaries including identification of scope, objectives and decision points showing options with costs and benefits defined. 5. Coordinates software updates. 6. Establish change control processes and procedures. 7. Thoroughly reviewing each new release and communicating needed changes.
3 (15%) Collaboration : Participates with clinical disciplines. 2. Plans and executes processes and procedures to support scheduled and unscheduled outages. Mentors new staff and supports skill acquisition in current analyst.
4 (10%) Subject Matter Expert: 1. Subject matter expert of the application functionality that supports their user’s practice and has breadth of knowledge across EHR. 2. Effectively manages customer goals and expectations. 3. Designs, builds and tests end users’ tools, as appropriate, utilizing best practice principles.
5 (5%) New Technology: Investigate, recommend and install new applications
6 (5%) Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed.
7 (5%) Documentation: Documents programming problems and resolutions in the ticket for future reference using the ticket system.
8 (5%) Miscellananeous: 1. Assist personnel of other departments as a computer resource. 2. Performs other related duties assigned by supervisor. In an emergency, performs other duties necessary for the welfare of patients or the efficient operations of the institution.
