Product Quality Engineer Intern

Position Title: Product Quality Engineer Intern Position Summary: 2023 Summer internship opportunity. Aid in improving product quality using continuous improvement methodologies, working with manufacturing personnel, collaboration with other engineers, leadership to define problems and develop solutions. Job Description: Identify gaps in Management Systems and execute improvements using DMAIC methodology and problem-solving techniques such as data analysis, process mapping, failure mode effect analysis, and control plans. Execute processes necessary to support effective management systems to include all manufacturing operations Communicate to operations leadership and manufacturing personnel as needed project status and requirements Strengthen organizational culture through safety and sustainability, and customer centricity, by focusing on employee engagement and inclusion. Strive for Operational Excellence through innovation, to achieve focused improvements. Additional job duties, as assigned Project focus #1: Develop and prepare standards for work and processes to meet ISO 13485:2016 Medical Devices Standard Define process specifications and prepare operating instructions Project focus #2: Resource management Establish ability requirements for training, and execute a system for maintaining processes and records PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, climb, twist, turn, grasp, and move about the facility. Walking, walking on irregular surfaces, and balancing will be required. Hearing, sight to include depth perception and color vision, and the ability to speak clearly will be required. Occasional lifting and moving up to 50 lbs. and the ability to comply with PPE requirements (ability to pass a fit-test and wear a respirator is required for certain positions/locations). The environment for this position is a Manufacturing setting, with exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noise. Candidates should be able to adapt to a traditional business environment. Additional Details: Minimum Qualifications: Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Good communication skills with all levels of the workforce and leadership. Bring to closure assigned projects and clearly communicate information using appropriate tools (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Minitab) Compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and standards.
