POSITION SUMMARY
The Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) performs and participates in decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, scanning, sterilization, storage and distribution of reusable surgical and clinical instrumentation and equipment.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
o High School Diploma/GED required
o Sterile Processing technician certification from an accredited school or training program preferred or must be
obtained within 12 months of employment
o BLS certification
EXPERIENCE
o 1 year experience in a hospital or outpatient operating room preferred
o Familiarity with all surgical instruments and equipment preferred
