Job Purpose
Under general supervision, is responsible for maintaining the buildings, equipment, vehicles and grounds. Provides a preventative maintenance program and supervises assigned staff, contracted personnel and residents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
65% Functional Operations
Performs typical and preventative maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the efficient and cost effective operation of the facility.- Oversees overall custodial procedures and is responsible to ensure completion of routine maintenance for facility vehicles, insect/pest control, material safety data sheet files, key and chemical control.
- Contacts contractors for special projects and procures quotes for projects as necessary or required.
- Maintains inventory of janitorial supplies and inspects the facility for cleanliness and safety. Advises immediate supervisor of any conditions that requires special attention.
- May be needed to assist with various tasks such as moving office furniture and setting up equipment for special functions.
- Troubleshoots problems, recommends and/or implements solutions, performs maintenance tasks as needed.
- Operate MonDay vehicles and equipment according to established guidelines.
- Perform other duties and tasks as requested or required by supervisor.
25% Supervision
- Supervises maintenance staff
- Schedules work, assigns staff and residents, monitors progress, and conducts performance appraisals.
- Establish, train and ensures standards are maintained on safe use and maintenance of equipment and housekeeping standards.
- Creates and fosters a working environment for effective communications.
- Identifies problems and ensures appropriate actions are implemented.
- Ensures appropriate training is provided, enabling personnel to perform to established standards.
10% Administrative
- Compiles and documents maintenance work orders.
- Plans the maintenance program, establishes guidelines and priorities.
- Assist in the development of safety standards.
- Attend staff meetings as necessary or required.
- Prepares reports and completes forms.
Qualifications
- Graduation from High School or GED Equivalent.
- Thorough knowledge of building systems, maintenance techniques, tools and construction techniques.
- Certification or license in HVAC, plumbing or electrical.
- Knowledge of personnel supervision, administration and fiscal administration.
- Knowledge of criminal justice and corrections system strongly desired.
- Ability to implement problem solving principles related to maintenance operations as normally obtained through a minimum of 5 years directly related experience.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in oral, picture or schedule form.
- Ability to read and write routine reports and statistical information (ie punctuation, grammar, spelling).
- Interpersonal communication skills including courtesty, tact and professionalism necessary to communicate effectively with staff, residents and outside agencies.
- Skilled in using a personal computer.
- Valid Ohio Driver's License required.
MonDay is a community based correctional facility that provides a secure treatment environment for probationable felony offenders. MonDay challenges offenders to modify their behavior to become responsible citizens by utilizing Cognitive Behavioral programming.
Working Conditions

- This is a minimum security facility, therefore all outside access doors are locked at all times.

- Exposure to chemicals, elecricity, gas motors, sharp objects, dirt and noise.
- Safety procedures must be diligently followed.

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs on a frequent basis.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and/or via telephone; use a computer, and read routine correspondences and reports.

- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.

This is a salary/exempt position. Starting base pay for this position is $46,532.93/annually.
