MMI currently has a full-time telework (work from home) opportunity available for a HUD Certified Customer Service & Housing Counselor. Bilingual in Spanish is required.
Shift: 40 hours per week; The scheduled shift will be an 8-hour shift between the hours of 7am cst and 11pm cst. Most shifts will be late afternoon shifts with a start time of either 10am, 11am, or 12pm cst (8am, 9am, or 10am pacific time). Shifts may include working at least one day on the weekend.
Please note that the scheduled shift is subject to change based upon business need.
The start date is tentatively scheduled for 04/10/2023.
Must possess a current HUD Housing Counselor Certification.

What will you do as a Housing Counselor?
As a Housing Counselor you will help individuals and families who are experiencing financial hardship with regards to their Housing situation. You will educate your client on options and assist them in selecting a solution that fits their situation. You will meet with people over the phone in a call center setting, and will use your newly acquired certifications, training and interpersonal skills to help put clients' minds at ease and place them on the road to financial success.
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years' experience in a customer service and/or sales environment.
- Background in customer service, sales, mortgage, finance, consumer credit or a counselor-related field.
- Must have a current HUD Housing Counselor Certification
- Required to obtain and maintain NFCC and FCRA certifications at the conclusion of initial training and prior to counseling. Must also register on the HUD Housing Certified Housing Counselor Roster.
- If applicable, may be required to obtain additional certifications for counseling services being provided.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment screening process including criminal background check.
- Bilingual Spanish - speaking is required (read, write, and speak).
