Job Description
The Fixed Assets Accounting Supervisor is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and reviewing financial information in relation to journal entries, account reconciliations, variance reporting and the month-end close process. Assist the Finance Manager, Fixed Assets, in training, assisting and reviewing tasks performed by the offshore team.
Compensation: The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $80,000. Pay will be determined based on experience level.
Essential Functions:
- Provide accounting support to the Finance Manager, Fixed Assets.
- Prepare monthly financial forecasts.
- Review additions to the fixed asset sub-ledger for proper classification and life.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly and year-end close and prepare/review journal entries in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare/review account reconciliations; research and resolve variances as applicable.
- Prepare/review key financial reports used by accounting and management.
- Participate in annual budget process.
- Identify and recommend process improvements.
- Assist with special projects, as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Review worked performed by the Fixed Asset offshore team.
Management Responsibility: Review and assist with work performed by offshore staff accountants under the general direction of the Finance Manager, Fixed Assets.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, with 4-6 years accounting or related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Proven understanding and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet established deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and is attentive to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
- Team orientated approach to tasks and problem solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel) with the ability to learn new and existing company specific software applications.
- Ability to manage large sets of data and complex spreadsheets.
- Ability to take initiative in identifying problems, collecting data, and establishing facts in order to produce practical decisions and solutions.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners and fax machines. Position requires prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to work occasional Saturdays and evenings as necessary.
