Montagne, a bespoke custom packaging company, is currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to join our team in the gift packaging import industry. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, as well as a strong track record of successful project management in the gift packaging or related import industry. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing projects from start to finish, managing all aspects from sample creation to customer satisfaction and payment.
Responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting President with designing new, fully customized packaging programs for our clients, keeping in mind their branding objectives and budget
- Building relationships, establishing rapport and trust with clients through custom project development and follow up
- Educate customers about our capabilities, including what separates our “custom” offerings from the more standard programs they may be familiar with, and guide them through the design and order process
- Understand our wide variety of materials, lead times, production process, and our offers of sustainability, recyclability, etc.
- Assist with design and innovation for new business opportunities in different luxury packaging markets
- Write up custom materials and provide client art for factory quote requests
- Review and approve factory sketches and art
- Manage the back and forth to having the factory develop the custom concepts for our clients
- Keep track of factory requests (quotes, sketches, samples) and samples sent to clients
- Review samples with clients, recommend changes when necessary
- Communicate all changes to quotes, samples and art back to the factory - track and confirm their implementation
- Serve as primary point of contact for customers and factories
- Manage and communicate production timelines for all custom orders
- Produce client facing quotes, based on factory costs, duty rates and markups
- Send order confirmation requests to partner company by providing factory cost, selling cost and all approved design specs
- Advise customers on planning for and maintaining stock-on-hand, given our long lead times
- Shipping - to and from factories, customers, and material suppliers
- Assist in designing/Producing mailers and email blasts
- Prep and pack samples, supplies, etc. for trade shows
- Work trade shows to capture new business opportunities and meet new customers and execute appropriate follow-up to finalize order details
Requirements for position:
- BA or BS, at least 4 years business experience
- Graphic Design experience and proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop a plus but not required
- Ability to manage multiple accounts with minimal supervision
- Team player with the willingness to go above and beyond “assigned” duties when/if necessary
- Goal-Oriented – acts with a sense of urgency to meet goals in a timely manner each day
- Willingness to travel to trade shows up to 5 times a year in the US, with possible travel overseas
- Interpersonal Skills – excellent verbal and written communication skills while relating well with all kinds of people
