Senior Environmental Attributes Analyst
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Summary:
The primary function of this position is to support the Company’s revenue streams by maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies. This requires the ability to adhere to recurring deadlines related to the registration and compliance of environmental attributes produced from the Company’s renewable energy business.
Detailed list of job responsibilities includes:
· Assist with the management of the generation, sale, and third-party audits of environmental attributes from Company’s production of renewable natural gas, and any associated issues.
· Technical expert in the EPA’s Renewable Fuel Standard program (RFS), CARB’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard program (LCFS), and other State Programs for Company applicability and requirements.
· Assist with the analysis and tracking of RIN forecasting and sales.
· Conduct detailed data QA/QC, review, and tracking on auditable operational data.
· Maintain compliance with RFS through third-party annual audits and triennial Engineering Review submittals.
· Assist with the management of the LCFS Verification program with third-party auditors, requiring quarterly and annual reports.
· Ensure continued familiarity with site operations, and engineering and design updates for changes that affect regulatory requirements.
· Gain technical expertise for new facility(s) and register new pathway(s) with RFS, CARB, and/or other State Programs.
· Assist with the management of new facility(s) commissioning as part of new pathway registrations.
· Technical contact with Company finance and accounting department regarding Attribute’s sales and counter party royalties; and
Skills and Qualifications:
· Previous experience at Montauk in the Environmental Attributes Department or have at least five years- experience in an industrial setting.
· Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, biological or environmental science, or an equivalent.
· Must have knowledge of renewable natural gas or electricity projects.
· Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Work and Excel.
· Ability to interact positively and effectively in a team environment; and
· Valid Drivers’ license issued by state of residence in good standing.
Physical Requirements:
· Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements.
· Ability to walk over uneven terrain.
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
· Ability to use and wear applicable PPE including respiratory protection.
