We are seeking an experienced biologist (project biologist) who will be responsible for working with a project team to conduct stormwater and hazardous materials site inspections as part of overall CEQA and NEPA compliance for various types of construction projects.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
Conduct stormwater/SWPPP inspections, Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, and construction monitoring (as necessary).
Maintain confidentiality at all times
Exercise safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs
Participate in the company’s continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts
Keep up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops
Perform other duties as assigned
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM Qualifications
BS in water resources, biology, environmental science, ecology, wetland science, or similar field.
Three or more years of professional experience as a storm water specialist (QSD), Environmental Professional (EP), biologist, or equivalent.
Experience and training in storm water, water resources, hazardous materials, biology, or similar.
Knowledge of CGP Requirements, NPDES, ASTM Standards
Experience preparing state and federal SWPPPs and conducting site inspections with respect to stormwater issues and best management practices (BMPs).
Experience in using SWRCB SMARTS website.
Proven abilities in field work and technical writing.
Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
This position can be physically demanding and may require working in various environments/conditions that may require an individual to be physically capable of canvassing large areas by foot on various terrains.
The position may involve routine local travel as well as non-local travel up to 20% of the time.
PREFERRED Qualifications
MS in biology, environmental science, ecology, wetland science, water resources, or similar field.
Experience and training in botany, wildlife biology, fisheries, wetland ecology, or similar.
HAZWOPER Certification.
Knowledge of current environmental regulations including CEQA and NEPA, FESA, and/or CESA.
Experience in water quality and soil monitoring, sampling, and remediation.
Experience with bird, plant, and wildlife identification.
Experience conducting wetland delineations, rare plant surveys, CWA permitting, and/or similar.
ESA section 10 (a)(1)(A) recovery permits.
Experience conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and reviewing EDR reports.

Pay: $70,000 - $90,000 / year
Offers made will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
