Manager, Facilities Engineering & Project Management
Moog's Corporate Group, in East Aurora, NY, is hiring for a Manager, Facilities Engineering & Project Management.
Facilities Engineering & Project Management (FEPM) is responsible for management, governance, delivery and direction for large, complex, cross-functional projects and programs related to facilities, site infrastructure and supporting manufacturing projects, all the while ensuring that customer expectations and business value are delivered as per the business case. Additionally, FEPM is responsible for the technical knowledge and documentation management and Facility Planning associated with the various business and manufacturing operations located at the East Aurora Campus.
The FEPM Manager will be responsible for the management of the Campus Operations team focused on Engineering and facilities projects, including staffing, budgeting and other relevant management functions required to hold all Operations and Business stakeholders accountable for optimizing the cost, risk and value of operational assets throughout their life cycle.
The FEPM Manager will provide strategic guidance and oversight as it relates to service agreements, contracted work and the planning of capital projects pertaining to facilities, site infrastructure and manufacturing spaces.
Your accountabilities include:
- Provide effective leadership and mentorship according to Moog culture & values
- Support and drive workplace safety and environmental initiatives and programs as they apply to onsite personnel as well as contractor oversight
- Plan and develop operational budgets in addition to planning long and short-term goals related to capital expenditures
- Assist in developing and implementing sourcing strategies and plans for labor and services as they relate to Facilities Engineering & Project Management
- Actively monitoring progress of projects relating to scope, schedule, quality and budget and organizing campus participation during design, construction, commissioning, turn-over and occupancy
- Ensure project compliance with state procedures, public works laws, building and energy codes, and Moog’s requirements and procedures
- Set expectations for design excellence in all projects, developing and implementing strategies, policies and procedures to support the business’ short, mid and long-term goals
- Develop the technical resources of the facilities units, while at the same time providing leadership to ensure efficient and cost-effective support to the organization
- Support and assist in the development of the facilities Emergency Preparedness and Business Continuity Planning as it relates to FEPM
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in an Engineering or Architecture required with Professional Licensing preferred
- Minimum of 5-10 years in a progressive leadership role
- Strategic thinking — an understanding of strategic business objectives and highly proficient in balancing technical and business attributes, process minded and driven by continuous improvement and who is a strong communicator
- Proven ability to collaborate, build relationships and influence individuals at all levels in a matrix management environment (as well as external vendors and service providers) to ensure that segregation and overlapping roles are identified and coordinated
- Experience managing both direct reports and business stakeholders
- Ability to effectively lead and drive change as FEPM develops and matures to meet organizational and challenges associated with changing business demands
- Experience with policy and process development and implementation
- Experience engaging with procurement, legal, tax, real estate management and accountancy advisors for additional information
- Experience working with outside agencies for permitting, site plan reviews and code compliance
- Prior roles or demonstrable experience of working with and leading collaborative teams involved with various types of capital projects relating to manufacturing, facilities, and site infrastructure
