Duties & Responsibilities
Thorough knowledge of the plans and contract documents as well as their application on assigned projects
Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner while interacting with the public and clients
Obtain measurements and thoroughly detailed progress information of construction activities
Coordinates on-site testing when needed
Inspects and documents materials prior to installation
Identify potential problems and present solutions to the project team
Able to work independently on large scale projects
Interprets and complies with company mandated safety policies
Travel to project sites will be required – overnights out of town –
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management or related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of eight years of experience in the Construction or Civil Engineering industry
NDDOT certifications/experience a plus
Must be able to work the same hours as the contractor, up to 16 hours a day when indicated
Strong communication skills
Ability to prepare engineering records and to write concise technical reports
Must be able to interpret construction plans, specifications, and maps
Must have valid driver’s license and be insurable
Ability to perform physical work (i.e. strenuous walking, lifting 50 pounds, catching basin grates and manhole covers, hauling equipment, etc.)
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
