SAP Consultant and Database Developer

Should have 10 years of experience as SAP Consultant and Database Developer. Should have solid level architect knowledge in SAP area and able to contribute to most technical and functional things including ABAP/BASIS/HR/MM/BI/SD/PP/CPI-DS and Database Development platforms.

• Reviews and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems:
• Creates systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to application developers:
• Coordinates and performs in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems:
• Supports tailoring of all system functionality, supports established requirements and policies and procedures Provides training on new functionalities and upgrades:
• Analyzes user needs to determine data requirements, functional requirements, and performs analysis as well as process and data modelling.
• Monitor all SAP systems activity daily including for SAP ECC 6, BI/BW, Enterprise Portal, GRC, Gateway, and other SAP systems.
• Maintain the integrity, security, and availability of database(s)
•  Provide server administration with a variety of database products that include Oracle, SQL Server, and SYBASE
• Administer, maintain, and Implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database(s)
•  Building and configuring server and database of high availability and quality according to needs of the organization as identified
•  Establish and maintain database user accounts
•  Perform disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data
•  Develop policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database(s)
•  Evaluate requirements and recommends available DBMS products
•  Perform database and software life-cycle activities to ensure highest level of system performance and availability
• Support data modelling activities by way of prototype database implementations
• Direct the monitoring, administrating, and implementing performance on database systems as well as database performance optimization, developing/changing database indices, redesigning database structure and reloading data into a database
•  Coordinate database architecture changes with Database Engineer (DBE)s.
•  Direct the installation of database management systems, databases, tables and views.
•  Directs the administration and use of current and emerging database tools, strategies and technologies.
•  Developing and/or installing high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data.
•  Configure database replication, Manage the SSL connections and Maintaining cybersecurity measures.
•  Minimizing database downtime and managing parameters to provide fast query responses.
•  Performing tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security and privacy and preserve data integrity
•  Monitoring the performance of hardware and software and ensuring system and applications are regularly updated, implementing changes, and applying new patches and versions when required.

• Monitor all SAP systems activity daily including for SAP ECC 6, ESS, Enterprise Portal, GRC, Gateway, and other SAP systems.
• Maintain SAP ECC & ESS profile configurations, including monitoring and adjusting when problems occur or to improve performance.
• Administration and monitoring of Background processing and batch jobs.
• Load balancing for application server logins. Watch workload consumed by each application server, particularly during month-end processing; add additional resources to server whenever needed.
• Manage importing of SAP transports from development, functional and enterprise analytics teams into the SAP ECC, ESS and other systems through typical landscapes: development, quality assurance, production, and training.
• Monitor and apply SAP support OSS notes. Use SAP online OSS support to research and report problems, schedule and provide solutions.
• Maintain sandbox, development, quality assurance (QA) and training environments, including regular refreshes of QA and training systems from production and post-processing steps to maintain identity of the system in the QA/training landscape.
• Complete installation of R3, BW and its core modules and provide continuous SAP support package upgrades. Upgrade R3 kernel when required.
• Maintain SAP Enterprise portal environment. Configuring backend services called by the portal, know how to create, change, and update SSL certificate.
• Planning for SAP Installations, system sizing (capacity planning), and disk/storage/server layout and system installation plans.
• Monitor database growth and activity. Monitor database performance and adjust database resources as required. Work with Database administrators to maintain, assess, enhance, and upgrade any database used for SAP systems/applications.
• Table and index maintenance. Reorganize database tables and rebuild database indexes as required.
• Perform database backup/restore using RMAN and B R Tools
• Test database recovery scenarios on a yearly basis.
• Diagnose long running SQL and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage and apply SAP kernel patches and upgrades.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors for various audits and provides documentation for system updates.
• Runs standard queries and validation reports.
  
  

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related business degree from an accredited university
• Experience working in a Linux-based server environment, preferably with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including familiarity with command line scripting.
• Experience working in a Windows-based server environment, including familiarity with command line scripting.
• Experience in SAP Consultant in an SAP/R3 environment like ABAP/BASIS/HR/MM/BI/SD/PP/CPI-DS and Database Development platforms.
• Experience in web environment, especially with HTTPS and SSL configuration.
• Experience performing analysis and capacity planning in an SAP environment (preferred).
• Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills in researching and solving technical problems related to SAP Basis and Oracle database performance.
