The EHS Coordinator functions daily within the EHS department to implement the company’s EHS programs to maintain regulatory compliance and improve the health and safety culture of the facility.  As part of this function, you will manage EHS Management systems policies and procedures.  You will also act as a thinkSAFE ambassador to improve safety awareness throughout the site and continually improve safe work practices by maintaining the H&S management system and engaging in safety conversations and coaching employees on best practices.  

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate and implement the Company’s health & safety processes ensuring compliance with all Federal, State and Local regulations
• Act as a key member in the investigation of health and safety incidents, participate in health & safety audits within the Company’s facilities, and develop corrective actions where required
• Develop and conduct thinkSAFE and other H&S required training to ensure leadership development with regards to the thinkSAFE program
• Maintain all plant safety equipment to include fire extinguisher, emergency eyewash stations, emergency lighting, ladder safety, forklift safety, etc.
• Perform job hazard assessments and recommend improvements in job safety
• Perform industrial hygiene sampling and ergonomic assessments and provide reports to management of the results and findings
• Maintain all H&S records of training, compliance, and OSHA logs, provide governmental reports as required
• Maintain all ISO 14001 environmental management system records and procedures. Coordinate continuous improvement by tracking key performance indicators supporting our ESG goals.  Act as responsible person for ISO 14001 audits

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma
• 3 years’ experience in a health and safety within manufacturing 
• Knowledge of ISO 14001
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, for managing people and teamwork
• Basic computer & math skills required for e-mail, spreadsheets, word processing and data base management
• Must be familiar with personal computer-based word-processing, spreadsheet software and other operating systems
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record

Preferred Qualifications: 

• BS Degree preferred 
• OSHA 30 (current) 
• Participate in local community safety and emergency response/planning committees

Physical Requirements: Work involves sitting at a desk and doing computer work, frequent trips into the production areas, exposure to noise, cold, heat, and dust
