The Wealth Management Marketing COO Office is creating an in-house Risk practice (Business Control Unit) and looking for a Head of Wealth Management Marketing Risk, reporting to the Wealth Management Marketing Chief Operating Officer. This position is intended for a go-getter who is passionate about building a strong risk culture from the ground up, energized by the opportunity to create something new, excited to harness whitespace, and methodical in incorporating risk best practices and career experience to fostering a best-in-class risk support model for the Wealth Management Marketing team. This individual will be responsible for:
Building out the Business Control Unit (BCU) team for Wealth Management Marketing, including: creating roles and hiring the right talent into them.
Deeply understanding the Risk environment for Wealth Management Marketing—what it is today and how it can evolve—and providing recommendations to improve or become more efficient and effective in our risk approach.
Assessing current risk framework and validating control effectiveness to ultimately ensure that sufficient controls are in place to remediate and improve.
Seamlessly and expediently managing incident containment and issue remediation activities.
Fostering a culture of Risk Management within Marketing by building trusted and deep relationships across Marketing subject matter experts as well as Risk, Compliance, Legal, Cybersecurity and Control Oversight & Risk Evaluation practitioners across the Morgan Stanley enterprise.
Providing regular reporting to the COO of Wealth Management Marketing as well as Marketing Leadership to ensure risks are appropriately assessed and understood.
Leading ad-hoc projects in partnership with fellow Risk colleagues as well as Legal and Compliance, including internal audits, regulatory exams, employee licensing initiatives.
Taking existing policies and procedures and ensuring they are timely, accurate, and relevant.
Representing Wealth Management Marketing in cross-functional risk forums and governance committees.
Overseeing the ongoing management of entitlements, provisioning & reporting (EPR) management, end-user computing (EUC) assessments, Rapid Notification System (RNS) testing, Open Pages, Mandatory Vacation policies, Business Continuity Procedures (BCPs) corporate device policies, new vendor risk assessments, and other relevant BCU functions.
QUALIFICATIONS
10 years of experience in risk, internal audit, or relevant role
