What are the responsibilities and job description for the ER Nurse position at Morgans Healthcare?
- Beds: 20, 4 fast track
- Patient Types: Trauma (falls, GSW, MVAs), sepsis, COVID (w mild to moderate s/s), STEMI, Stroke (TPA), DKA, respiratory issues, cardiac issues, neuro issues, mental illness (occasional). No invasive neuro- no craniotomies. No cath lab. Will transfer high acuity, complex patients, and ventilated patients. Frequent pediatric patients. (30%)
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, NRP, CPI or MOAB (preferred)
- Minimum Experience: 3 years required
- Consider 1st time traveler: Yes, with 4 years of ED experience
- Receptionist Available: Days
- Nursing Reading and Interpreting Strips: Bedside monitors
- Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Tech to Tech Ratio: 2 techs for unit
- Support Staff: 24/7 pharmacy, RT, ED physician; 1-2 APP coverage (0900-1300), ED tech/shift (0700, 1100, 1500, 1900)
- EMR: Epic
Notes: Could potentially float to Auburn; average of 75 patients/day (2020); 87 patients/day (2019); After hours, nurses mix pharmacy; 3-11 on call surgical nurse
