What are the responsibilities and job description for the POD/Billing Specialist position at Morning Pointe?

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
Work with billing team to share the daily work load and responsibilities of invoicing and credits for Chattanooga distribution.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITY:
POD PROCESS
- Review POD reports received daily from customers.
- Sort POD reports by location, item, quantity and price.
- Verify contract pricing is current.
- Verify customer purchased the quantity of cases they are claiming and stock pricing is correct.
- If there is a discrepancy, calculate the correction and reach out to sales/customer to explain discrepancy and request payback if needed.
- Review customer account and determine if customer has deducted.
- Issue POD credit memo (External or Internal)
- Request backup from customer if PODs were deducted but no backup was sent.
- Work closely with Accounting, Customer, Sales and Management when questions arise and approval amounts are required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum two years’ experience with Customer billing, credits, rebates, and POD’s. Proficient in MS Office applications - Word, Outlook, intermediate Excel, and knowledge of Accounting/ERP billing systems. High school diploma or equivalent with some classes in College Accounting preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have the ability to read and understand complex documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English. Must be able to understand and speak clearly, and communicate in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide both fractions and decimals, solve equations, read measurements. Use formulas to calculate and analyze data.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, regularly required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, reach with arms and hands. Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds. A person must be able to perform these functions for a minimum of 8 hours straight (with any applicable breaks during day) on a regular basis.
