What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shrink Wrap Operator Nights Shift 3Day/12Hour position at Morning Pointe?

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Responsibility of setting up the pallet stand with a new pallet and ensuring that the stacking pattern of the bundles is correct, product is correctly wrapped, and stored in its location.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITY:
- In accordance with our 5S system, maintain a clean work environment
- Perform set up and operation of shrink wrap equipment used to create wrapped pallets while ensuring that the pallet is not broken, and is free of dirt, pests, or trash
- Off bearing the shrink wrapped bundles onto the pallet
- Monitor production runs to determine conformity to quality specifications
- Place finished work on designated pallets for next downstream process
- Move work-in-process to and from the machine
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and adjustments on equipment as needed
- Read and understand job tickets, complete necessary job paperwork, and record information into shop floor data system
- Communicate with other team members when quality issues are present to avoid quality errors
- Ensure all pallets are built according to preferred methods and wrapped from the bottom of the pallet to the top cases on each pallet to avoid damage during transport
- Follow all safety work practices and maintain clean and orderly dock area
- Report productivity achievements, waste/defects
- Adhere to safety, production schedule, and quality requirements
- Make sure that the stacking pattern and height conforms to the job ticket and labels
- Printing and folding of the labels
- Ensuring that labels are correct with the pallet card or job ticket
- Calling stock puller for pick up at the machine
- Adjust to and follow new procedures and innovations, which would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation
- Effectively utilizes downtime (not including approved breaks) by performing other tasks associated with maintaining a clean work environment or as otherwise instructed by a supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have basic computer skills and possess ability to utilize software.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have the ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English. Must be able to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide both fractions and decimals, solve equations, read a tape measure, and have an understanding of both standard and metric measuring systems.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must become a certified operator of any required equipment in accordance with SCT training and carry a copy of your certification with you.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, will regularly be required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with arms and hands. Frequently required to climb, balance, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently must lift/move 25 to 75 pounds. Must be able to perform these functions for a minimum of 8 hours straight (with a 30-minute meal break any other applicable breaks during his/her shift) on a regular basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
