What are the responsibilities and job description for the Enterprise Architect position at Morph Enterprise LLC?

Job Description

IMP Note: 3 days onsite; 2 days remote; Vaccination required

12 months contract with possible extension

 

· 16 years of experience. Provides high-level architectural expertise to managers and technical staff.

· The Enterprise Architect (EA) will be mostly involved on the replacement project and other initiatives as needed. For the replacement project, the EA will support the ongoing Business Process Reengineering requirements and drafting the statement of objectives for the new system along with the team. They will also work on supporting the identification of a robust cloud based permitting solution with the rest of the leadership team. The EA will ensure that the proper accommodations for historical data preservation for the existing system are made and will support change management processes to facilitate the implementation of the enhanced system.

· The client has determined that migrating its legacy systems to an enterprise-class, cloud-based platform will enable it to meet these requirements and improve the permitting experience of its customer base.

 

· The delivery timeline for the replacement project is Jan 2024. The Enterprise Architect will be involved in all phases of the project.

i. Phase 1: Business Process Re-Engineering

Ø Task 1: Document the “as-is” business processes

Ø Task 2: Develop an implementation plan for recommended permitting business process and system changes (Current phase)

Ø Task 3: Develop the statement of objectives

ii. Phase 2: Issue RFQ for New Permitting Solution

iii. Phase 3: Onboard contractor for system migration, configuration, and integration

iv. Phase 4: Launch new system to the public

v. Phase 5: System maintenance and operations

 

· The EA will work on a variety of IT tools to aid in the design, development, testing, and deployment of Department’s systems. These tools might include enterprise architecture frameworks, modeling tools, business process management software, project management tools, cloud-based platforms, software development tools, data management and analysis tools, and communication and collaboration tools. These tools will help manage the projects' scope, schedule, and budget and aid in the implementation of the new system. The exact tools and technologies an enterprise architect will use will depend on the specific project that is used by Department’s technology stack.

· Departments’ will make the following stack available as necessary based on the requirements of the work of the EA.

Ø Modeling tools: UML, BPMN, etc.

Ø Project management tools: Jira, MS Project

Ø Cloud-based platforms: Azure

Ø Software development tools: Git, Jenkins, or Visual Studio

Ø Data management and analysis tools: SQL, data warehousing and BI tools

Ø Communication and collaboration tools: Microsoft Teams

Ø GIS tools: ArcGIS

Responsibilities:

· Provides high-level architectural expertise to managers and technical staff.

· Develops architectural products and deliverables for the enterprise and operational business lines.

· Develops strategy of system and the design infrastructure necessary to support that strategy.

· Advises on selection of technological purchases with regards to processing, data storage, data access, and applications development.

· Sets standards for the client/server relational database structure for the organization (Structured Query Language (SQL), Oracle, Sybase).

· Advises of feasibility of potential future projects to management.

 

 

Skill

· 16 yrs. as an Enterprise Architect

· 16 yrs. building an IT system roadmap

· system diagramming/modeling using structured modeling language like UML

· Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience

· Provides high-level architectural expertise to managers and technical staff

· Develops architectural products and deliverables for the enterprise and operational business lines

· Develops strategy of systems and the design infrastructure necessary to support that strategy

· Advises on selection of technological purchases with regards to processing, data storage, data access, and applications development.

· Advises of feasability of potential future projects to management

· Understands, predicts, and responds with technological responses to disruptive forces and targeted business outcomes

· Leadership and coordination of various domains for the delivery of project requirements

· Development and implementation of cybersecurity requirements and solutions

· Provides improvement plans to existing technologies to provide further benefit to the customer

· Troubleshoots and stabilizes existing technologies to meet business demands

· Defines requirements, principles, and models that guide technology decisions for an enterprise

· Coaches, mentors, and collaborates with technical subject matter experts (SMEs) and peers to develop technology architectures that enable and drive ne

· Oversees technology implementation and modification activities

· Facilitates a collaborative relationship across product owners and agile development teams
