The Pathologist is responsible for anatomic and clinical Pathology.

QUALIFICATIONS

Staff Pathologist
-
Current license to practice medicine in the State of Illinois.
-
Must be board certified or Board eligible by the Americal Board of Pathology, provided by the physician shall become Board Certified within three years of the date of appointment to the Department/Committee of Pathology.

Must maintain an active membership in the Morris Hospital Medical Staff.
-
Five years experience in clinical and surgical pathology is highly desirable.

Must be able to establish effective working relationships with the medical staff, hospital administration and personnel in other departments/services.

Must have thorough knowledge of laboratory services.

Analytical ability is required in interpreting complex data.

Requires independent judgement in making medical diagnosis and interpreting laboratory findings. Makes recommendations.

Requires frequent contact with physicians, hospital administrators, and laboratory personnel.
-
Assists the Laboratory Medical Director in preparation in the Hospital accreditation process and IDPH inspectors. As needed, interact with local government agency such as County Health Department.

DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion required.
