Morristown United Methodist Church, located on the Green in Morristown, NJ is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Property Manager to join our team.
The Property Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the church's buildings and grounds to ensure a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment. This role involves performing a variety of custodial, maintenance and repair work to support the mission and ministry of the church and its partners. The Property Manager serves as the lead contact for all outside vendors for major project and repair work. The Property Manager also works with the Office Manager to coordinate outside groups that come into the building for concerts, plays and community events. The facilities include the main church building and grounds and a residential house.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular maintenance tasks, including ongoing cleaning and sanitization of the church's interior spaces.
- Coordinate with outside vendors related to the maintenance of the facility.
- Perform light handyman work, including making necessary repairs to maintain the functionality and appearance of the church facilities.
- Review property and facilities regularly to ensure all properties of the church are well-maintained, clean and in good repair.
- Set up and clean up the building for services and other congregational events.
- Communicate with church staff, volunteers and community partners on facility needs and uses to ensure the smooth operation of the church facilities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in commercial custodial or similar position.
- Knowledge of commercial facilities and general cleaning needs and best practices including: floor and carpet cleaning, wall and surface sanitation, trash & recycling removal, supply inventory & ordering, electrical systems, HVAC, boiler, plumbing & building safety.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Windows computer system
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and to have complete mobility in building and grounds activities including operation of equipment such as floor buffers, lifting and emptying trash cans, bending over to clean bathroom facilities, cleaning tables; working on a ladder for such tasks as changing light bulbs and cleaning windows.
- Building Maintenance including: minor repairs, painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical and moving of furniture and equipment.
- Organized through all phases of tasks and projects and thorough in completion of tasks / jobs
- Strong attention to detail
- Flexible and willing to take on non-routine cleaning and special projects as the need arises
- Ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision
- Capacity to take direction
- Must be able to walk, stand, sit, kneel and climb as required to fulfill the requirements of this position. Some work may be for prolonged or extended periods of time.
- Must be able to climb and work off ladders or lifting devices to a height of 20 feet.
- NJ Driver’s License
Hours
40 hours per week: Sundays plus 4 Weekdays
Compensation
From $40,000 to $43,000
