What are the responsibilities and job description for the GIS / OSS Specialist position at Mosaic Technologies?

Mosaic Technologies is northwest Wisconsin’s leading provider of IT and advanced fiber connectivity solutions for residential, business, enterprise, and wholesale customers with 24/7 customer support. We are seeking a self-driven GIS / OSS Specialist to assist in maintaining the accuracy and quality of our GIS data.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Build, update, and maintain computer-based records of outside plant and serviceable customer locations for Mosaic Technologies. This data will need to have a high degree of accuracy, integrity, and consistency.
  • Interpret GIS records, property tax records, easements, and maps to provide accurate service location data.
  • Coordinates with other departments to maximize efficiencies within their areas of work utilizing GIS tools. Fulfill data and records requests from other departments.
  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously, while achieving project goals, timelines, and reporting.
  • Supports the Director of OSS, Analytics & Reporting by preparing various business reports as required.
  • May verify service availability to prospective or existing customers.
  • May provide training or assistance to other users involved with operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in computer science, GIS, engineering or related field OR equivalent work experience of 5 years in a related field
  • Prior customer service, ISP or IT experience is desirable
  • Proficient in analytics and reporting, including presentation of data
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams to complete necessary tasks
  • Flexibility to work in support of multiple projects at one time
  • Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated sense of urgency, attention to detail, and ability to work to deadlines
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and work with departmental staff and leadership
  • Strong skills in support tools including the Microsoft Office Suite (MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Office, etc.)

 

Salary is commensurate with experience.
