The Proposal Specialist is a part of the dynamic proposal-writing team. This team drives firm growth by developing compelling and compliant proposals and other sales collateral for offices, service lines, and industry groups across the firm.
The position collaborates with other proposal team members, senior-level client service professionals, and other members of the firm’s sales and marketing team.
This position creates complex and effective proposals and related work products to support the firm’s sales pursuits.

Responsibilities :
- Consult with client-facing professionals to understand how to best position our firm for specific opportunities and own a dynamic queue of assignments, prioritizing appropriately to meet strict submittal deadlines
- Independently develop (write, edit, format, and proofread) proposals, using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, with speed and accuracy
- Project manage each proposal through the full proposal development cycle, establishing timelines and proactively communicating expectations around both internal and client deadlines for on-time, complete submissions
- Capture, shape, and synthesize information provided by pursuit team members and other sources to reflect a cohesive message
- Ensure proposal responses are compliant with specific request for proposal (RFP) requirements, as needed
- Provide exceptional client service to internal clients including developing rapport, being responsive, and providing high-quality deliverables
- Understand the firm’s service offerings, brand standards, and common risks in the proposal process, escalating pursuit-specific concerns or questions as necessary
- Develop PowerPoint presentations or other sales collateral for oral presentations, as needed, with strong attention to formatting, consistency, and graphic layout
- Work closely with client service professionals to advise them on sales strategy and develop customized proposals that specifically address the needs and interests of each prospective client
- Develop new or customized content (either independently or in collaboration with client service professionals) to respond to unique proposal RFP questions
- Write persuasive content and customize document content and layouts to produce a compelling document for specific prospective clients
- Regularly contribute new or improved content to the proposal content library; may include helping client service professionals draft, update, or improve resumes and bios
- Proactively explore and embrace technology and tools used by the proposal and sales teams
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; emphasis in business, communications, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience required; experience in a professional services environment preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of project management, persuasive writing, and / or sales and Marketing
- Excellent command of English grammar, spelling, and composition, both written and verbal communication
- Organizational and project management skills with the ability to own and drive project schedule from start to finish
- Self-directed professional with strong interpersonal and client-service skills
- Strong executive presence and demonstrated leadership skills, good judgment, and ability to effectively interface with employees and leaders at all levels within the firm
- Strong attention to detail, including proofreading and editing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint)
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint preferred
- Ability to travel as needed, approximately 5%
