What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education ARD Compliance Clerk position at Mount Pleasant Independent School District?
Assist special education staff in organizing special education records and ARD/IEP document processing
Support the educational diagnostician, special education coordinator, PEIMS coordinators, and special education department in a variety of ways. Provide consistency and efficiency to the special education department’s educational diagnosticians by providing assistance, which includes but is not limited to documenting, maintaining, copying, filing, and updating special education records including distributing paperwork and notices to parents, students, and school personnel.
Education Required:
High School Diploma or GED Required
Associate degree Preferred
Qualifications:
Strong organizational skills required
One to three years of experience in special education compliance
Follow verbal and written directions
Proficient skills in typing, word processing and file maintenance
Ability to work with a variety of individuals and personalities
Proficient skills in typing, word processing and file maintenance
Strong verbal and written communication skills, and excellent customer service skills.
Bilingual preferred
Job Type Description:
Adhere to federal, state and local policies and procedures related to special education
Perform general duties related to the organization, maintenance, and compliance of special education records.
Maintain knowledge and effectively use data systems specific to special education
Receive and direct incoming calls; take messages or route to appropriate staff.
Maintains confidentiality of records and information at all times.
Collate and assemble SPED referral packets including distribution of documents.
Participates in meetings and special events as assigned.
Maintain folders in the correct order as mandated by district guidelines as per supervisor's directions.
Maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others in the conduct of district business and demonstrates teamwork in daily activities.
Work closely with campus and department secretaries, teachers, supervisors, and administrators.
