Position Responsibilities:
- Coordinates patient flow in the office. Works directly with physician during office hours.
- Ensures continuity of clinical support for all services related to patient care through coordination with physician office staff.
- Triages patient calls. Works with physician to ensure proper handling of all calls.
- Prepares room and assist doctor in office procedures.
- Prepares all surgical packets for patient. Give instructions and preparation directions as needed.
- Takes after hours call and contacts physician for proper handling of all calls.
- Regularly monitors office for JCAHO Compliance including reviews of sample drug logs sharps and completeness of patient records including Ambulatory Summary Records.
- Ensures that all post op patients are seen in a timely manner.
- Resolves problems and concerns of all clients with confidence and control in a timely manner.
- Responsible for ensuring that par levels of office and medical supplies are kept.
- Responsible for completing and submitting pharmacy check list to Pharmacy Administration on a monthly basis.
- Responsible for completing and submitting Audit Tracer to Physician Administration on a monthly basis.
- Assists staff members with job duties as needed.
- Performs other departmental specific job responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous Medical Assistant experience required
- 3-5 years experience in a physician practice setting / healthcare industry experience
