Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Department: Resident Care
Qualifications:
- Credentials as a Licensed Practical Nurse with a current State license required.
- One-year nursing experience preferred; experience in geriatric nursing preferred.
- Organizational skills and ability to supervise department staff effectively and work well with personnel of other departments required; ensures high standards of care are maintained.
- Ability to communicate well (verbally and in writing), utilize creative problem-solving and handle problems diplomatically required.
- Ability to relate well to geriatric residents; respectful and caring attitude towards residents required.
- Physical stamina for constant activity required.
Supervision & Accountability: Resident Care Manager
Work Area & Conditions:
Work throughout building. Subject to walking, bending and lifting; direct communication with residents and their family members or visitors and physicians; desk work; and possible exposure to body fluids and infectious conditions of residents.
Job Summary:
Nurse assigned to assisting with medications and monitoring the personal care services provided by Resident Assistants; and reporting care and abnormal symptoms of residents to staff of next shift and Resident Care Manager. May be required to handle emergencies, assuming supervisory duties of staff and building, as necessary.
