What are the responsibilities and job description for the AutoCAD Drafter position at Mountain Crane Service?
Job Summary
Mountain Crane Service is looking for an entry to mid-level drafter proficient in AutoCad to join its team in the exciting crane service industry. Under the general direction of a Project Engineer you will be responsible for developing crane lift plans and heavy haul plans to aid in the construction of a large variety of construction projects (general construction, industrial sites, oil and gas refineries, tower crane erection and dismantle, wind turbine erection and maintenance, etc.). Plans will be drawn in a 3D CAD environment using pre-developed crane models. The Drafter will receive on the job training to become knowledgeable about cranes and rigging (great team support and a great opportunity to learn about some very cool machines).
This position is highly satisfying due to the variety of projects that the Drafter will see. No two days or projects are the same. As a Drafter you will play an integral part in making sure that projects are completed safely and efficiently. You will be an important part of the Mountain Crane Team.

Responsibilities and Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Drafting
- 3D modeling
- Reading Blueprints
- Understanding of multiple construction disciplines
- Processes and obtain supplemental information necessary for the Project Engineer to act on or refer to.
- Prepare correspondences and file documents.
- Work with Sales Team and Project Managers/Engineers to provide plans pertaining to industry.
- Collect and relay information quickly and effectively.
- Team player attitude with the ability to work well independently.
Qualifications and Skills
- Required: Minimum of 2-year experience with AutoCAD in 3D environment.
- Recommended: An understanding of editing PDF’s using Software.
- Required: Must be able to follow computerized and manual filing systems within office and operate Microsoft Office Products. Must have proficient typing and writing skills.
- Ability to coordinate the collection of data and incorporate this information into drawings, plans, and maps while preparing and potentially presenting their drawings to clients.
- Create detailed plans that are utilized in the erection of products and the construction of buildings and plants/factories that show progress of construction.
- Good communication & cooperation skills with internal and external groups with the ability to establish and maintain successful relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds, other client representatives and executives, coworkers and other department personnel.
- Attendance at some night meetings or irregular working hours may be required.
