Fraud Investigator

SCHEDULE

M-F 9AM - 6 PM
Rotating Saturday's 9 AM - 3:30 PM, possible rotating evenings until 7:30 PM
 

To be effective, an individual must be able to perform each job duty successfully:

• Utilizes critical thinking to investigate complex and/or high dollar check, account, and loan fraud cases in which members are victims or perpetrators, and gather all appropriate  evidence
• Interviews members to clarify statements, as needed
• Documents all activities
• Constructs formal reports for Law Enforcement referral
• Provides internal support to other business units on fraud related issues, as directed
• Networks with peers at other financial institutions
• Maintains professional relationships with Law Enforcement
• Testifies in court, as needed
• Evaluates reports, as directed
• Keeps current on fraud trends
• Performs other duties as assigned

Experience

One year of investigation experience

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, Trainings

Certified Fraud Investigator or similar desirable

Computer/Office Equipment Skills

Microsoft Office Suite knowledge and the ability to learn applicable software

Managerial Responsibility

Has no supervisory/managerial responsibilities

Other Skills and Abilities

Proficient in verbal and written communication

Tact and diplomacy are critical to this position

Objective critical and analytical thinking are critical to this position

Physical Demands

Must be able to and use hands to handle/feel occasionally

Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear consistently

Vision Requirements

Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)

Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)

Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)

Weight Lifted or Force Exerted

Frequently lifts up to 10 pounds, occasionally lifts up to 25 pounds and rarely lifts up to 100 pounds.

There are no unusual environmental factors (such as a typical office)

Noise Environment

Moderate noise (business office with computers and printers, light traffic)
