SUMMARY:
To plan and direct all Slot operations for the casino. To develop, maintain and enhance Slot programs to improve operational performance, increase revenue, and satisfy customers. To provide training, direction, guidance and supervision to Slot Attendants and the Slot Tech Manager. To develop, enhance and maintain positive and effective relations with customers and employees, and with Municipal, State and Federal authorities on casino and gaming operations. To develop, train and manage staff to meet and exceed performance expectations. To operate slots in compliance with the State of Colorado Limited Gaming Act and other applicable municipal, state and federal laws or regulations. To maintain and comply with safety and security standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and manages all Slot operations.
- Directly supervises the Slots Department, including training, coaching, reinforcing, and developing performance plans.
- Develops Slot programs to meet corporate goals.
- Develop, implement, review, and analyze all gaming related policies and procedures in accordance with State Rules, Regulations, and ICMPs, as well as internal casino asset protection requirements.
- Develop, implement, review, and analyze all Slot programs in compliance with safety and employment laws and the Colorado Limited Gaming Act.
- Control costs in labor and other expenses by reviewing budgets and P&L statements.
- Measure revenue by reviewing P&L statements and market share information.
- Manage and control the Slot budget. Takes actions, as necessary, to achieve a profit or to manage operations within budgetary requirements.
- Analyze Slot performance via regular reporting to corporate and state level contacts.
- Keep current with new games, new equipment, and new procedures that would enhance the operation.
- Attend and participate in casino departmental management meetings and provides clarification and guidance regarding various Slot issues, goals and objectives.
- Communicate and maintain performance standards for interaction with customers and manages staff to anticipate, reduce, or eliminate complaints from customers.
- Ensure employees maintain a clean and safe work environment and complies with safety procedures, including use of required safety equipment.
- Ensures employees follow security policies and procedures and reports all violations. Performs duties in compliance with the Colorado Limited Gaming Act.
- Demonstrates moderate to advanced skill level in all Microsoft Office Suite programs to include MS Word and MS Excel.
- Performs other job-related duties as directed.
- Maintains flexible schedule to include regular and reliable attendance.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Slot Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Slot Tech Manager, Slot Technicians and Slot Attendants and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated experience installing, servicing, adjusting and repairing slot and other ticketed (TITO) operated machines.
- Demonstrated experience providing training, technical direction and guidance to co-workers.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of “state of the art” slot machine games and operation.
- Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure.
- Demonstrated knowledge of casino operations, gaming rules and regulations.
- Demonstrated effective and diplomatic customer service and communication skills, which includes contact with employees and customers.
- Demonstrated experience supervising and motivating staff.
- Demonstrated experience problem solving, organizing and prioritizing work.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE and LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Two (2) or more years of recent and related casino experience, preferably in slot operations. Two (2) or more years of related managerial experience. Demonstrated effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills using English.
REASONING ABILITY:
Takes Actions, makes recommendations, beyond the scope of essential duties, which may positively or negatively impact the operations of other departments.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must have a valid and current State of Colorado Key Gaming License. Must have a valid Colorado Driver's License, with a good driving record and must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully: The employee is regularly required to perform physical exertion: frequent brisk walking, climbing stairs, stooping, bending, stretching, reaching, lifting, pushing and standing for an entire work shift with standard breaks. Essential duties require lifting slot machines and other gaming equipment weighing 150 to 200 or more pounds; and working a flexible workweek with additional hours on a non-routine basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Various gaming related equipment particularly related to slot operations. General office equipment may be used including two-way radio, computers, photocopiers, fax machines, calculators, staplers and tape.
