What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ground Maintainer position at Mountainside Treatment Center?
Mountainside is currently seeking a Ground Maintainer. This employee ensures continual optimal operations of grounds, properties and facilities at Mountainside (i.e. physical plant, program flow, overall environment and Campus)
Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday 7:00am to 3:30pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure Mountainside Grounds are maintained in a pristine fashion within the Mountainside standards set forth by the design team in conjunction with Supervisor.
- Maintenance of gardens, pruning of trees, cutting grass, maintaining ball field, labyrinth and Wellness assets such as the Voyager course
- Ensure all Mountainside assets such as mowers, week whackers, blowers, utility cart, chain saws, and any other grounds safety equipment are maintained at all times
- Ability to fix Grounds equipment
- Cleaning of gutters; Debris, Ice or any other requirements
- Planting requests such as trees, shrubs, flowers or gardens are done in accordance with Mountainside standards
- Support all Holiday Thematic decorations according to Mountainside playbook
- Snow removal for all Mountainside properties
- Irrigation maintenance & repair including sprinkler systems, etc.
- Facilities and general handyman services as needed
- Assisting other departments with heavy lifting and household maintenance when deemed necessary
- Assist with care and operation of mountainside garden and orchard
- Assist in the cleaning of exterior surfaces
Qualifications:
- 1 year minimum working as a Grounds Laborer - required
- Background / education in Horticulture or Landscape - preferred
- Required to work weekends and holidays when requested
- Must be in excellent physical condition (capable of heavy lifting, 40 lbs. etc.)
- Ability to utilize Facility software systems and Microsoft software; Outlook such as Excel, Word and Power Point
- Working knowledge of all areas of property maintenance including gardening
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record within the past 5 years
Compensation:
- The base salary for the position is $16.00 to $20.00 per hour. Actual pay is determined based on a number of job-related factors including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, performance, and working conditions.
