What are the responsibilities and job description for the DEALER position at Moutaineer Casino Racetrack & Resort?
SUMMARY
The Dealer is responsible for dealing table games professionally, accurately, and according to policies and procedures. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Company policies, practices, and procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must exhibit a friendly and outgoing disposition at all times.
- Responsible for the operation & conduct of a particular game.
- Must possess the ability to quickly tabulate the numeric value of playing card totals.
- Must be able to inspect and shuffle 6/8 decks of cards in a timely manner
- Required to audibly announce all hand totals, currency conversions to gaming cheques, color changes, and all other pertinent information that transpires during the course of gaming activity.
- Responsible for maintaining and protecting the bankroll at all times.
- Must be able to handle gaming cheques in order to pay & take in a proficient manner.
- Must implement approved policies and procedures in the performance of duties.
- Must be able to deal and meet department game pace requirements.
10. All other duties as assigned.
REPORTING LINE
You will report directly to the Casino Shift Manager then to the Director of Gaming.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Must have excellent communication skills, be polite, and present a neat appearance at all times. Must be able to read and write and to have strong mathematical skills.
- The ability to work with others as a team in an efficient manner.
- You will need to be available to work all shifts.
- You must be at least 21 years old.
- You also must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain and maintain a WV Racing License.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a Level 2 Table Game License through the WV Lottery.
EDUCATIONAL AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Trained or experience in any game(s) that the employee is assigned to deal. Blackjack is a mandatory requirement.
- Will be required to satisfactorily pass a gaming audition administered by Mountaineer Casino Supervisor to verify that the applicant is knowledgeable in the following area:
Technical skills, Game pace, aware of game protection responsibilities, able to follow instruction, over all accuracy & proficiency.
- Must be knowledgeable of West Virginia’s gaming regulations, as well as, company internal controls, policies and procedures.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES
Must obtain Gaming Certification as designated by the WV Lottery. The ability to obtain a Level 2 WV Lottery License.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
You will need to be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. The ability to push, pull, reach, kneel, twist, grasp, carry and lift up to 25 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Will be exposed to working in a noisy, smoke/secondary smoke environment and seasonal elements.
