What are the responsibilities and job description for the Master Scheduler position at MP Canton (Bid-Well)?
Job Description: This position will be responsible for the daily production schedule including resolving daily planning and scheduling issues. This includes working with production supervisors, sales and materials to provide the best combination of plant leveling while meeting customer delivery requirements. This position also has responsibility for creating the plant production forecast. Other duties as assigned. Plan and report production schedules according to product type, orders, demands, specifications, deviations, shipments, deliveries, batch sizes, safety stock, and material requirements Ensure all production schedules are kept up to date and adhered to Communicate regularly with internal customers as required Ensure scheduling is kept up to date and agreed delivery dates are achievable to meet customer demands Review and release spec sheets Schedule in-house and after market orders Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred. Minimum of 4 years experience in production planning and material control in a manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of a lean manufacturing environment; understanding of JIT, TQM, PFEP, kanban, and single piece flow. Strong computer skills; including MRP systems (IFS preferred), MS Office (excel, word, etc.). Ability to problem solve and determine root cause of material flow problems and implement change. Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a continuously changing environment. Excellent communication and customer service skills; including the ability to negotiate completion dates, facilitate presentations, communicate schedules, and resolve conflict. Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented. Knowledge of BOM product structure.
