What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Clerk position at MP RPO?
Job Summary:
The Billing Clerk plays a key role in ensuring our vendors are paid timely and accurately.
Essential Functions:
• Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
• Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
• Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports, recording entries.
• Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal id numbers, scheduling, and preparing
checks, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.
• Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
• Prepares and issues invoices to freight customers
• Reviews and verifies shipping info using source documents such as bills of lading, invoices, and delivery
certificates
• Build relationships with customers and work with them to maintain current accounts
• Assists other departments as necessary
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education
o High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience
o 1-2 years of AP/AR experience preferred
o Previous experience in transportation industry a plus
o Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV a plus
- Specific skills
o Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills
o Excellent computer skills
o Previous experience working with document management software preferred
o Working knowledge of basic bookkeeping
o Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability
Salary : $33,600 - $42,500
