Job Posting for Director of Accounting & Administration - RDS at MPC Construction
The Accounting Manager will oversee the accounting staff to ensure accurate and timely reporting and deliverables to both internal and external stakeholders. This is a dynamic role and will evolve as new processes and procedures are implemented and improved.
This position Reports to the President and has direct supervisory responsibilities over the Accounting Manager and Executive Assistant.

Provide training, direction, and evaluation of direct reports
Lead the development and implementation of goals, policies, and procedures in technology, financial management, and accounting
Accountable for general and project insurance compliance
Monitor the review and reconciliation of bank accounts
Review/Approve ACH payments
Ensure timely and accurate assembly of financial statements and supporting documents (AJEs, Reconciliations, Allocations, etc)
Monitor timely period close in accounting system
Review payroll for accuracy prior to disbursement
Ensure processing and paying all payroll taxes
Ensure timely and accurate Work in Process (WIP) updates each month
Accountable for reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
Review and adjust G&A expenses for accuracy
Accountable to facilitate the annual 3rd Party CPA review process
Assists with auditor and tax requests
Developing strong relationships with outside audit firm, banks, insurance brokers, senior leadership team, and other parties in matters pertaining to accounting issues
Ensures timely and accurate completion of W2 and 1099 forms
Assists in technical research
Lead annual budget preparation process and monthly review of budget vs actual analysis
Responsible for proactive cash management including forecasting
Explore opportunities to reduce all operating expenses
Risk Management
Accountable for reviewing and maintaining insurance policies and renewals
Understanding of applicable Prime and Subcontract Agreements and terms

Requirements
5 years supervisory experience in similar role
Accounting degree preferred
Plexxis or similar ERP experience preferred
Fundamental understanding of construction specific and financial accounting
Proven track record of month-end close responsibility and timely financial statement issuance
Ability to identify sources of information and analyze accuracy of balances
Desire to critically think, problem solve, and present conclusions
Prior supervisory experience. Experience will include the following:
Training on processes, accounting fundamentals, software use
Proven track record of training and developing staff

Ability to drive development and seek mentorship, coaching, and direction for personal growth
