Description
To assemble and test heavy and/or large final product per drawing, engineering diagrams, or verbal instruction to meet customer requirements and company policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Determines equipment required for product assembly. Must have the ability to use most hand tools properly such as electric drill motor, taps, electric grinders, soldering iron, wrenches, screwdrivers, center punch, hammer, measuring equipment, etc. Check power and hand tools for proper operation.
- Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts, and sub-assemblies, per customer sales order.
- Checks Customer Specification Sheet, engineering drawings, or Bill of Materials,to determine required assembly, and any special options,
- Uses MRP system to pick materials for assembly and post production and make inquiries. Obtains required material from stock to initiate assembly.
- Test final product.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with supervisors, engineers, and working leader.
- Understand and use the MRP system to pick materials and post production activity and make inquiries.
- Interpret sales orders and perform required operations to complete assembly of product with options required on sales order.
- Understand engineering drawings, and BOM, etc.
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Heavy lifting required, possibly up to 75 pounds, Experience in intricate hand assembly using mechanical tools.
- Must have the ability to use most hand tools properly such as electric drill motors, drills, taps, electric grinders, soldering iron, wrenches, screwdrivers, center punch, hammer, and measuring equipment.
- Must be agile and dexterous with the ability to work in various positions to include working under product during assembly. Requires frequent standing, lifting, stooping, bending and reaching motions.
- Gloves and safety glasses may be required in assembly work.
- Good vision and color perception required.
- Keep work area clean, and perform other related duties as assigned.
- Must have the ability to hook up, load, pull and park a utility trailer approximately 18 feet in length.
CERTIFICATES OR LICENSES
- Hold a valid Motor Vehicle Operators license.
- Must be able to be certified to operate a fork lift and tow motor.
