What are the responsibilities and job description for the Private Estate : Laundress position at MPHM LLC?
The laundress works directly with the homeowner(s) / House Manager to fulfill requests needed in laundry. Position will require the handling of delicate clothing items to include washing, pressing, steaming and organizing.
Overall Key Accountabilities including but not limited to:
- Ensuring all garments received for laundry service are inspected and any stains or prior damaged to a garment are noted before processing, in accordance with the owner’s needs, and ensuring all garments are timely returned.
- Manages the entire laundry regiment including the washing of clothes, linens and towels.
- Detailed ironing, steaming and ironing of men’s shirts, blouses, luxury bedding and table linens with proper storage.
- Creating/maintaining detailed inventories for wardrobe, linen and laundry supplies.
· Purchasing and ordering laundry and laundry maintenance supplies as needed.
- Uphold and understand discretion and privacy of owner/guests of owner.
- Maintain a high level of personal service experience with private families/individuals.
- Meticulous and strong attention to details.
- Creative, intuitive thinking, resourcefulness and problem solving.
- Adaptable to the standards and desires of the owner.
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the residences, if needed.
· Protecting equipment and making sure there are no inadequacies and reporting any needed repairs and replacements.
· Inspecting for and immediately notifying and addressing any damages, deficits, and disturbances.
· Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
· Ensuring maintenance of all cleaning equipment, supplies, and products; ensuring safe and sanitary storage and care of products.
· Always conducting oneself in a professional manner.
· Adhering to the established standard of conduct and house rules, fire regulations, procedures and policies.
· Passing any owner feedback accordingly.
· Always looking for improvement for better service standard with a general theme of anticipating the owner’s needs
· Managing tools and supplies needed for daily operations in laundry department.
· Spearheading projects based on wardrobe and linens.
· Very high standard of cleanliness and extremely detail oriented.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a professional laundress for a PRIVATE home (not a hotel), preferably with experience working with fine clothing, couture, and high-quality linens.
- Extensive knowledge of garment care, fabric types, and proper cleaning techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to utilize feedback and anticipate owner’s needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical strength and stamina to work extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift 25 to 30 pounds.
- Able to reach, stretch, bend, and walk during daily routine, with the ability to stand for long lengths of time.

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
