Work Days and Hours: Monday through Thursday 5:00 am to 3:30 pm / Friday and Saturday as required
Job Description
Efficiently assemble products as well as lead team members by training, assigning work, and keeping the assembly department flowing with minimal direction. Train team members as required to continuously improve knowledge base and skill set.
Day to Day Responsibilities may include:
- Maintain Safety, Quality, and Delivery throughout assembly department.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
- Assign individual work assignments to team members in the production area.
- Inspect Bill of Materials/Kits for accuracy.
- Perform first unit inspections for compliance with work instructions and quality.
- Work hand in hand with Quality to ensure a complaint product is being presented for inspection.
- Mentor/Coach team members as needed to expand skill sets and ensure compliant product is being built.
- Mentor/Coach team members as needed to ensure compliance to company policies.
- Coordinate with the Planning Department as required to get work orders updated when needed.
- Coordinate with Purchasing to work through any shortages that may arise.
- Monitor email throughout the day and address anything that may require urgent attention.
- Assemble precision assemblies, set up and operate drills, reamers, countersinks, and spot face.
- Install press fit bushings and force fit bushings.
- Assemble a variety of production aircraft and spacecraft parts and install aircraft equipment.
- Assemble aircraft bench top assemblies with or without the aid of jigs and fixtures by drilling, reaming, countersinking, stop countersinking, dimpling as assigned, burring, fastening, filing, fitting, aligning, trimming, shimming and remove surface defects as assigned.
- Apply Fay/Fillet Seal as required.
- Touch up parts as required.
Candidates should have the following qualities/skills
- Minimum 5 years of aircraft assembly experience
- Minimum 2 years of sealer experience
- Experience with all types of aircraft fasteners such a rivets, pull rivets, hi-loks, etc..
- Ability to use general metrology tools
- Problem solving
- Be detailed oriented
