What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Officer (Unarmed - Healthcare) position at MPS Security?
MPS Security is actively recruiting for dependable individuals to work in a healthcare setting, protecting client property, assets, and personnel, as well as patients and visitors.
All Security Officers will maintain a high visibility presence, to prevent any illegal or inappropriate activities. The goal is to detect, visually deter, and observe & report.
Weekly schedule: Wednesday thru Sunday, 1500-2300 (40 hours)
Pay rate: $16.50/hour
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
- Protect client property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment
- Screen visitors in accordance with client protocol
- Maintain access control of visitors/issue visitor badges
- Investigate disturbances
- Act lawfully in direct defense of life and property
- Ensure only authorized personnel are admitted into restricted areas within client premises
- Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences
- Responds to emergency calls for assistance and utilize de-escalation techniques to control disorderly conduct or combative patients, and demonstrate age specific responses in these situations
- Randomly patrol building perimeter
- Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates
- Monitor alarm systems and video cameras, and operate emergency equipment as needed
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid guard card issued by BSIS
- 1-year security experience
- Prior healthcare experience preferred
- Ability to work in high profile/high activity setting
- Excellent public relations/interaction skills
- Ability to use simple keypad electronic devices (i.e. computer, smart phone/radio, camera system, etc.)
- Able to work 6-12 hour shifts without issue
- Must have reliable transportation
- Military/Law Enforcement experience a plus (former military/law enforcement must have a valid guard card)

Few security companies can provide instant contact (phone, text, email) to their clients with the company CEO, President, and Security Manager (Operations), and have them on site within 30 minutes.
Our Field Supervisors routinely visit all sites/posts to interact and engage with our officers and clients, to ensure our people are professionally trained and our clients receive the quality service for which they are paying.
MPS Security offers post assignments throughout Southwest Riverside County, at commercial, industrial, residential, and healthcare properties, for armed or unarmed officers, working as standing guards or vehicle patrol (alarm response).

BONUS PLANS
$300.00 HIRING BONUS (Full-Time)
- Must be a full-time employee, working at least 32 hours weekly.
- Bonus will be paid upon completion of a 90-day term with MPS Security from the first day worked, with no disciplinary/corrective action and no attendance issues (includes lates, call off’s, and requested time off).
- VACCINATION BONUS
$150.00 for full Covid-19 Vaccination at time of hiring (proof of vaccination required upon day of hire)
- Bonus will be paid upon completion of a 90-day term with MPS Security from the first day worked.
- All persons working without proof of vaccination may be required to test weekly, based on post assignment.
REFER A FRIEND BONUS
$200.00 to be paid after referred friend completes a 90-day term with MPS Security from the first day worked, with no disciplinary/corrective action and no attendance issues (includes lates, call off's, and requested time off).
