What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front of House position at Mr & Mrs Crab Juicy Seafood & Bar?

Mr. & Mrs. Crab is one of the most popular and fastest growing seafood restaurants in the industry and we are finally making our way to Grand Rapids, Michigan! We are looking for high-energy, fun-loving, and responsible individuals to join the Front of House team and help us open our NEW Grand Rapids location. Currently seeking Hosts, Servers, Bartenders, Bussers/Food Runners, and Floor Managers! (Grand Opening date TBA)

Host responsibilities Include:

  • Greeting and assisting all guests who enter the establishment
  • Having consistent knowledge of what is happening on the dining room floor to be able to seat guests quickly and in the proper rotation
  • Answering all incoming phone calls
  • Utilizing a POS system to accurately ring in orders
  • Handling cash and card transactions
  • Providing excellent customer service to every individual

Serving Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order
  • Attend to customers upon entrance
  • Present restaurant menus and help customers select food/beverages
  • Take and serve orders
  • Answer questions or make recommendations for complementary products
  • Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff
  • Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude
  • Issue bills and accept payment

Skills Required:

  • Proven restaurant serving or waitering experience
  • Hands-on experience in cashier duties
  • Attention to cleanliness and safety
  • Patience and customer-oriented approach
  • Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude
  • Responsible and trustworthy
  • Computer literacy

Bartending Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
  • Interact with customers, take orders and serve food and drinks
  • Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
  • Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails
  • Plan and present bar menu
  • Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
  • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
  • Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations

Skills Required:

  • Resume and proven working experience as a bartender
  • Excellent knowledge of in mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
  • Computer literacy
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean

Busser / Food Runner Responsibilities Include:

  • Actively monitoring all tables for cleanliness
  • Actively monitoring the dining room floor to quickly clean spills and support serving staff
  • Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order
  • Assisting with bringing all dirty dish and silverware back to dishwasher
  • Ensuring entire restaurant is kept clean and presentable
  • Sweeping and mopping daily
  • Running prepared food and drinks to the proper guest at the proper table
  • Assisting kitchen Expo when necessary
  • Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience

Floor Manager Responsibilities Include:

  • Table touching to ensure proper service and a satisfactory experience
  • Building a strong rapport with guests to ensure repeat visits
  • Handling all guest complaints and offering a resolution within company policy
  • Monitoring Front of House staff to ensure all company policies are being followed
  • Constant communication with upper management to ensure restaurant consistency and guest satisfaction

Pay: $9.87 - $20.00 per hour
