Position Title: Application Engineer
Location: Owatonna - hybrid two days a week onsite

Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for the following:
- Engineering and support related to the sales and service of custom industrial heat exchangers.
- ASME design and documentation to support specific projects.
- Responsible for the ongoing development and support of programs to support the company's engineering and design needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively demonstrates and promotes company core values in a positive and professional work environment.
- Engineer product designs to meet customer specifications and company standards, prepare and present equipment proposals, then obtain customer approval.
- Travel to customer locations for sales and engineering support.
- Provide specifications to design drafter.
- Develop tools (databases, applications, etc.) to support and automate essential engineering functions.
- Maintain company safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity standards.
- Regular interaction with customers, internal departments, shop personnel, and external vendors
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Four-year degree in engineering with an emphasis, or applicable work background, in heat transfer or fluid dynamics.
- Or a relevant combination of education and experience.
- At least three years of relevant experience.
Required Knowledge and Abilities:
- Ability to perform computer functions as they pertain to this job, including but not limited to Microsoft Office and exposure to 3-D modeling
- Possesses strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to accurately measure objects using hand-held measuring tools.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment; on a semi-regular basis, work will be performed in the shop or at a customer’s facility.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. The position requires the effective use of a computer monitor.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, and walk;
- Occasionally required to bend, stoop, kneel, lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
