Job Title: Director of Regional Donor Relations

SUMMARY
Under the supervision of and reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Director of Regional Donor Relations oversees the development, coordination, and execution of the Fund Development Plan in the outlying counties of River Bend Food Bank’s service area, specifically Dubuque and Galesburg, ensuring that contributed revenue goals are met to enable the operation of the Food Bank. This position will require a minimum number of face-to-face meetings with donors each month.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Cultivate, solicit and steward current and prospective donors in the outlying counties of River Bend Food Bank’s service area, namely the Dubuque Branch and Galesburg Branch markets, to inform and educate donors that our reach is farther than just the QCA.
- Schedule and execute a minimum number of face-to-face meetings with donors each month as determined by the Chief Development Officer.
- Maintain and analyze procedures for qualifying and tracking prospects and for recording and reporting gifts and provide a weekly activity report showing progress on donor visits, interactions, and solicitations to the Chief Development Officer.
- Coordinate and implement regional Community Hunger Drive and Student Hunger Drive campaigns that models existing drives that take place in the QCA.
- Coordinate and plan or provide support to all regional special events, corporate sponsorships, and funds/food drives.
- Cultivate positive relations with agencies, program participants, Food Bank staff, volunteers, donors, the media, public officials, and members of the public with a goal to expand services across the service area.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years’ experience in fundraising, fund development or sales preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to ask for money and secure significant financial gifts required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Ability to prioritize and organize tasks, meet deadlines, and multi-task effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively present information and speak to groups of individuals, including employees, Board members and members of the public.
- Ability to work well independently.
- Accurate typing and data entry skills.
- Willingness to support the mission of the organization and to help end hunger in our area.
- Ability to travel frequently throughout the Food Bank’s service area, with frequent out of town travel required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, as needed, occasionally outside of regular business hours for special events and to support fundraising efforts.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment criminal background investigation and credit check.
