MRM is seeking a Strategy Planner
As a member of our Strategy Planning team, you'll use that curiosity to understand the needs, expectations, and behaviors of target audiences. You'll develop insights and ideas that spark powerful creative work. You'll think about the end-to-end customer experience and how to motivate action at every step, helping customers make their way through a complicated customer journey. You'll learn how to develop strategic points of view have tangible impact on our clients' businesses.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and Support Audience and Market Insights
- Generate and champion unique, actionable insights that become the foundation for breakthrough marketing strategies.
- Help strategy and account teams understand the target audience-their needs, expectations, rational and emotional mindsets, and attitudes-and how they can put the audience at the center of all strategies and communications.
- Develop customer journeys, competitive audits, messaging architectures, client point of views, consulting presentations.
- Gather market, category and competitive information to aid in deep understanding of the strategic situation. Help distill complex research and data into simple, compelling, and insightsful narratives.
Inspire Breakthrough Creative
- Learn to craft smart creative briefs and partner with all functional team members to help produce extraordinary work.
- Provide input and research that informs brainstorming session and innovation development, including gathering ideas and examples to stimulate thinking. Learn how to develop discussion guides and research briefs.
- Be strong advocate for the brand throughout development of market and creative strategy.
Develop Marketing Strategy
- Have a foundational understanding of customer journeys, go-to-market planning and communications planning efforts or a deep curiousity to learn this craft.
- Be able to assist in identifying customer journey points, and component parts of market and communications plan.
- Generate thoughtful, strategic recommendations that are presented to clients.
Be a Strong Storyteller
- Strive for a strong story arc when building brand, program and campaign briefs and messaging. Use technology to tell these stories.
- Provide input and structure for compelling consumer or B2B content.
- Develop and give presentations that articulate a strong point of view.
Provide Strong Support of Clients and Internal Teams
- Collaborate with agency teams to provide customer insight across tactical efforts.
- Collaborate with agency teams to deliver on the strategic account plan.
- Be able to share recommendations with clients and account teams.
- Assist in or conduct SME interviews for project purposes.
- Participate in executing best practices and efforts as assigned by Group Strategy lead.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- BA or BS in marketing, advertising, public relations, journalism, sociology, psychology, or related field
Work Experience
- 3 to 8 years of related experience
- Technology experience preferred
- B2B experience preferred
Team Participation
- Experience being a collaborative member of a work team
Discipline Experience
- Brand, market and communications strategy
- Some experience with understanding sales ecosystems-buyers, sellers, and influencers
Skills
- Exceptional ability to get things done
- Skilled storyteller with excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Exceptional ability to gather, analyze and synthesize information
- Able to take guidance and feedback from multiple sources, process it, and put it into practice
- Some experience using secondary or syndicated research tools preferred
- Some experience with primary research preferred: defining project objectives, selecting research vendors and methodologies, turning results into actionable strategies, and so on
- Exceptional collaboration skills
- Open to listening, learning and growing
