Hospitalist: Provide acute, internal medical care to adult patients at community-based hospital. Involves critical diagnosing, providing non-surgical treatment of diseases and injuries to hospitalized patients, and coordination with multiple specialties within the scope of the case.
Work with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, handle details of a patient's intake/admissions and discharge/follow-up/meds; order tests; maintain medical records; direct, manage, and report an inpatient's conditions to inpatient's primary care physician. Provide safe transition of patient care from in-hospital acute care back to community and sign off to primary care physicians.
Actively serve on several hospital committees to help improve efficiency, patient care, infection control, and teamwork and communication.
Requires 36-month internal medicine residency, MD Degree, and Board Certification in Internal Medicine. Requires current Massachusetts Medical License.
