As the Commercial Program Specialist II for the National Accounts team, you are responsible for coordinating activities, overseeing change management, and ensuring alignment between the customer and MSC. You will work directly with the customer and National Account Managers to improve processes, generate reporting and analysis to ensure we are meeting our customer expectations.
DUTIES And RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partners with National Account Managers and Management to align on both customer and MSC expectations.
- Responsible for ensuring execution of change management process for customer parent and site locations.
- Coordinates activities through regular cross-functional meetings and touch point sessions to ensure customer requirements are being met.
- Works with National Account Managers to identify and resolve specific assigned customer(s) challenges.
- Contributes to customer quarterly business reviews.
- Leads review process for assigned accounts and leverages lessons learned to improve processes.
- Acts as key liaison between National Account Sales and Sales Operations.
- Develops new ideas, through brainstorming, to drive long-term sales productivity.
- Develops key metrics and measures of success.
- Solves for critical adjustments/needs to enable the sales process.
- Engages customer stakeholders at various levels to develop solutions enabling profitable sales growth.
- Demonstrates thought leadership to drive ongoing continuous improvement opportunities.
- Provides customer account support to the MSC Sales Team leveraging system functionality and working with cross-functional SME's to drive Customer Sales.
- Maintains data relative to specific strategic accounts.
- Collects/analyzes data relevant to order to cash process in support identifying root cause.
- Drives the implementation of process/system change in support of increased order automation and order to cash optimization.
- Develops measures to monitor impact of process/system changes and ensure on-going control.
- Performs tasks outlined in Customer Program Specialist job description as follows:
- Manage all activities related to Commercial eCatalog requirements needed for customer purchasing platforms which includes and not limited to:
- internal extraction of product data
- customer specified template creation and Adhoc formatting
- normalize content
- internal and external validation of data
- sync MSC account with changes when applicable
- Creates and maintains a product offering that meets customer specifications and all contract compliance regulations.
- Maintains internal up-to-date databases of Commercial customer s eCatalogs to ensure proper data files, defined by the customer, can be effectively and efficiently generated and implemented.
- Manages the data synchronization between customer eCatalog and MSC s data when changes are made to MSC product offering, delivering an enhanced experience to the customer.
- Leads the collaboration efforts with the business to evaluate customer opportunities for data needs and works cross functionality to identify solutions.
- Creates and manages reporting to meet the obligations that have been set with the customer.
- Participates in business reviews with Commercial Sales Team to assist in the identification of opportunities to generate sales growth, improve margins, and drive profitability.
- Defines and manages eCatalog validation processes to ensure process and procedures and internal offering available in MSC s system meets the contractual obligations agreed to with the customer.
- Creatively solve problems and navigate through roadblocks that come up due to unique needs of our Commercial customers
- Interact and advise internal customers, through the application of specific program knowledge and subject matter expertise, in the execution of tasks.
- Comprehend customer contracts to determine the business terms implemented within the system.
- Responsible for the implementing/maintaining and validating of customer business terms to ensure contractual obligations are met or exceeded at all times.
- Efficiently utilizes reporting tools to provide information to assist the Sales Team with decision making in support of the customer.
- Analyze customer account modifications to determine required system updates to minimize impact to customer.
- Communicates process improvements to provide better service to our customers and streamline process workflow.
- Drives the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC s Mission.
- Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

EDUCATION And EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor s Degree in Business Management or a related field or equivalent experience required
- 4 years in sales operations support environment required
- Advanced Microsoft Excel user with strong analytical skills
- Attention to detail and ability to drive process improvements
- Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Strong experience engaging and partnering with cross functional teams and communicating at an executive level
- Experience with Tableau and/or Alteryx a plus
- High degree of integrity and ability to develop customer relationships required
- Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and develop action plans
- Ability to define, aggregate, and analyze metrics to assess performance drivers
- Ability to work independently and lead deliverables in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting issues and identifying timely resolutions
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities in a deadline driven environment
- Excellent presentation and oral and written communications skills are required
- Excellent organizational skills with strong commitment to follow-through required
- A valid driver s license and the ability to travel up to 10% of the time may be required.
- This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information ( ITAR ) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information ( CUI ).
