International Student Accommodation and Program Manager
- Have the ability to relate to students, caregivers, education agents and colleagues with a high level of empathy and professionalism.
- Demonstrate advanced levels of cultural intelligence and competence.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Have the ability to work under pressure, solve problems and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate the skills and sensitivity to undertake difficult conversations and mediate conflict.
- Provide training and oversees the Student Accommodation and Program Representative.
Certifications
- Valid CHRC
- Fully develops and revises the ISAP. This includes the application process.
- Promotes the ISAP in the MBRSD Community including marketing promotions.
- Maintains and revises the application process for interested homestay families.
- Manages the recruitment, screening and interviews of families, reference checks and the criminal background check process.
- Responsible for maintaining all documentation on site visits and inspections to prospective host families, with photos on each home visited OR any other type of accommodation.
- Maintains and properly files full records on each family.
- Matches students with homestay families or other accommodations. Works with the students and families to assist with the cultural, social and emotional integration of the placement situation. Deals effectively with conflict situations and assists with the communication process.
- Oversees the ISAP Representative to conduct home visits and reports throughout the year.
- Provide the families with the information about the student(s) arriving to their home.
- Communicate any new information to the families and student regarding the program, changes of schedule, new student arrival, etc.
- Be available to hear any issues or concerns by student or family about the living situation and maintain neutrality and professionalism.
- Relocates a student to a different homestay family in a case of incompatibility.
- Acts as a liaison between MBC, parents and host families and corresponds directly with these parties by way of telephone, in person or email.
- Solicits and provides feedback from hosts and students monthly.
- Tracks the expenses of the homestay program.
Reports To: Building Principal
Terms of Employment: As determined annually by the District.
Evaluation: Completed annually by the Principal or their designee.
FLSA Status: Exempt/Non-exempt
