What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursery Teacher position at Mt. Zion Preschool Center?
Our preschool is looking for a full-time teacher in the nursery who can help create innovative lesson plans and enhance the learning environment for our infants. This is a Christian preschool; therefore, you must be able to not only teach children basic learning skills, but also teach them about God. This teacher must be well organized and be able to work in a very fast paced environment. Being able to quickly adapt to changing conditions and rapidly assessing the needs of children will be a necessary skill.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare lesson plans that meet educational requirements in an age-appropriate manner and teach in a manner suitable for the ages of all participating students.
- Manage a busy classroom environment, and provide the structure and discipline required for successful learning for everyone in the classroom.
- Help children meet educational milestones through personalized instruction and other supplementary assistance.
- Provide helpful feedback to parents and guardians on a regular or as needed basis.
- Address basic interpersonal skills, such as sharing, taking turns, and asking permission in the classroom.
Job Skills & Qualifications:
REQUIRED:
- Ability to develop lesson plans that meet educational standards.
- Familiarity with classroom management skills.
- Submit to a criminal background check and drug screening upon hire.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education is preferred but not required.
- At least 3 years' experience in a classroom setting.
- Teaching degree or certificate in early childhood education.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED (Required)
- Associate (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- CPR Certification (Preferred)
- Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
