Medical Assistant


We have a new provider joining our team and need to add team members.  We are a busy Pediatric practice looking for a Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team.  You will perform a combination of various clinical and administrative tasks. Clinical duties include taking patient medical histories, recording patient vital signs, preparing patients for examination, sending referrals, retrieving voicemail message, and assisting the providers during examinations. Administrative responsibilities include greeting patients as they arrive, answering phones and emails, scheduling appointments, and updating medical records.   When necessary, you will also administer vaccinations and process prescriptions to be filled as assigned.



 Responsibilities include:

  • Customer service
  • Schedule appointments
  • Answer phones
  • Room patients
  • Evaluation of child including taking vitals & a medical history
  • Administering immunizations
  • Performing various lab duties: throat cultures, urinalysis, cbc, nasal swabs, etc.
  • Familiar with nebulizer and suctioning equipment
  • Providing parent and patient education
  • Assisting physician when necessary
  • Stocking rooms
  • Cross training with Patient Representative & Billing Duties as assigned

 

Requirements are:

  • Experience preferred
  • Current CPR certification
  • Pediatric office experience helpful
  • Outgoing energetic personality with a LOVE for children
  • Team player
  • Medical terminology
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate, multi-task and time management
  • Possess exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Must be able to work well under pressure while maintaining quality care and efficient patient flow
  • Communication and problem solving skills necessary
  • Basic computer skills
  • Requires extensive standing, bending and lifting
